Description
The Pazzi Conspiracy was a plot by members of the Pazzi famili (in italian "pazzi" means "crazy" LOL) and others to displace the de' Medici as rulers of Florence. On 26 April 1478 there was an attempt to assassinate Lorenzo and his brother Giuliano de' Medici.
Lorenzo survived; Giuliano was killed.
There is a reportage from Poliziano, a writer, who was there at the moment of the kill.
Originally the conspiracy was organized differently: there was a banquet, and the plan was to poison the Medici family. Unfortunately for the organizers, Giuliano was ill, and so the banquet didn't take place.
They accommodate to kill the Medici brothers during the Holy Mass.
Giuliano wasn't recovered from his illness yet, but two of the Pazzi convinced him to go to the church, saying something like: "long time we don't see you!" "come with us!". They hugged him in otder to understand if he was wearing some iron protection under his clothes.
